Hacker Euler is back with cryptic appeals

  • He asked his “associates” not to steal crypto assets
  • And talked a little politics

The hacker who robbed Euler Finance’s DeFi-platform 2 months ago addressed the community again. Traditionally, he did this through encrypted messages in transactions. And he began with a simple “Hello” in Spanish.

Further, the mysterious hacker wrote that he dedicated his message to “all the beautiful people who are all Argentines.”. He advises hackers to return stolen cryptocurrency in exchange for bounty rewards.

“If there is an Argentine hacker and peronist in the world, it is none other than me. My advice to first-time hackers: don’t be stupid, don’t steal, and take your reward.”

In the last message, the man left a cryptic warning: “Choose well in October, we’re going with everyone.”. He is probably referring to the upcoming elections in Argentina.

Journalists have previously put forward the theory that the Euler Finance hacker is from that country. Otherwise, why would he send a donation of 100 ETH ($130,000 at the then exchange rate) to Argentine developer Solidity.

The hacker also calls himself a Peronist. It is an Argentine political ideology that is interpreted as an alternative to neoliberalism.

We should remind you that the hacker himself abides by the code of honor of real hackers. In April, he returned 90% of what he stole to Euler Finance, leaving 10% as a reward for the bugs and vulnerabilities he found. This is standard practice among cyber professionals.
