Hong Kong police have reported an incident involving alleged scammers who swindled 11K counterfeit banknotes from a businessman. The suspects convinced the businessman to exchange his Tether (USDT) for cash, showing him bundles of money as an incentive. However, it turned out that all notes, except for two genuine banknotes, were fake. The scammers refused to let the businessman inspect the banknotes and later disappeared. The victim reported the incident to the police, leading to the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of the counterfeit banknotes. The suspects now face charges of obtaining property by deception and possession of counterfeit banknotes, which could result in lengthy prison sentences if convicted.
