“I didn’t know the passport was fake” – Do Kwon

  • The Terra co-founder pleads not guilty
  • Allegedly he arranged the passport through an intermediary and had no idea it was fake
  • He also tried to protect his comrade Han Chang-Jun

On Friday, June 16, the detention case of Do Kwon and his comrade Han Chang-Jun was heard in Podgorica.. During the proceedings, the Terra co-founder said he was unaware of the fake passport and executed the documents on recommendation.

Do Kwon said he obtained the papers through an agency:

“I went to a middleman, filled out all the documents and received a Costa Rican passport.. This agency was recommended to me by a friend.”

The Terra co-founder said he did not suspect the forgery. Allegedly he would not travel around the world with fake documents. Do Kwon also tried to obtain papers in Grenada and Belgium.

In the second case he succeeded, but in the first he did not.. But he also submitted both applications through agencies. When the court asked the defendant for the name of the intermediary firm, Do Kwon said he could not remember it.

At the end of his statement, he tried to defend Han Chang-jung:

“If you want to punish someone, send me to prison alone.”</nbsp;

The prosecution was not too impressed by Do Kwon’s statement.. The prosecutor’s office demanded the maximum punishment for both defendants because the papers, regardless of their origin, were executed with criminal intent.

When the court extended Do Kwon’s preliminary detention by six months. At this time, the issue of his extradition will be decided. As for the charges of attempting to cross the border with forged papers, the verdict will be announced this afternoon, June 19.
