Ilon Musk has announced a complete rebranding of Twitter

  • Ilon Musk intends to completely change the look and feel of the social network Twitter. The branded “bird” will be replaced by a Latin “X” and the blue color will be replaced by black.
  • The billionaire has already unveiled the new branding. CEO Linda Iaccarino said the changes are part of a process to completely “redesign” the platform.
  • As Musk has previously stated, the social network will become “an app for everything.”

Twitter billionaire owner Ilon Musk has announced a complete rebranding of the social networking site. He intends to “say goodbye” to the platform’s signature bluebird logo, replacing it with an “X”:

“Soon we’ll say adieu to the current Twitter brand, and gradually remove all the birds.”

Musk followed that up by posting a poll on his page suggesting that the social network’s signature color be changed to black. The idea was supported by 74.8 percent of users.

The billionaire noted that the new logo, in the form of a Latin “X,” is in the Art Deco style. Musk later changed his profile image to the social network’s new branding.

On the evening of Sunday, July 23, 2023, X.com began redirecting requests to Twitter.com. And a new projected logo has appeared on the company’s San Francisco headquarters.

The rebranding idea is part of Musk’s global strategy to structurally change the social network, as confirmed by Twitter CEO Linda Iaccarino:

“Twitter has changed how we communicate. X will go even further by creating a global platform.”

She said that under the new brand, the social network will become a space of unlimited interactive activity. This includes not only messaging and content sharing, but also financial settlements and a “global marketplace of ideas, goods, services,” the CEO emphasized.

“This transformation has no limits. X will be a platform that can offer, well… everything. Ilon Musk and I look forward to working with our companies and introducing this project to the world,” Iaccarino said.

Remember, right after the billionaire bought the social network, he renamed the parent company Twitter Inc. to X. Shortly afterward, he said he intended to change the platform into an “app for everything”.Specifically, this translates into the integration of new features. These include, for example, calls, video chat and payments.
