Gaming platform Immutable has recently announced the introduction of the early access mode for the Polygon-based zkEVM mainnet. This platform combines zero-knowledge proof technology (zk-rollup) with the functionalities of the Ethereum ecosystem.
According to the co-founder of Immutable, over 200 games have committed to developing apps on the platform in the past year, accounting for nearly 70% of the market share. The co-founder envisions that 2024 will witness the release of numerous games, aiming to attract tens of millions of players and provide an extraordinary gaming experience.
Furthermore, the public launch of the mainnet is scheduled to take place in the coming weeks. Notable games such as Guild of Guardians, Metalcore, Shardbound, Treeverse, Cool Cats, BADMAD Robots, Space Nation, Eyeball Games, and Imaginary Ones are anticipating an initial online launch on the platform.
To recap, Immutable announced the commencement of public testing for the zkEVM network in August 2023.
