India’s Enforcement Directorate Cracks Down on Gaming App Scam with Binance’s Support

India’s Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken action against a gaming app scam with the assistance of Binance. The ED has arrested four individuals in connection with the Fiewin app, which is under investigation for defrauding users of over Rs 400 crore ($47.6 million). The funds were laundered using digital wallets linked to a global crypto exchange. Binance’s FIU provided crucial intelligence that helped trace the funds and expose the fraud network. The Fiewin app scammed users by promising them easy money through mini-games but then preventing them from withdrawing their funds. The ED and Binance have collaborated closely in the investigation, with Binance’s specialized investigation team providing analytical support. Several individuals involved in the fraud have been arrested, but the ED and Binance continue to work together to unravel the full extent of the criminal network. This collaboration highlights the importance of public-private partnerships in combating financial fraud. Binance’s technological capabilities and analytical expertise will enhance future collaborative investigative efforts in the Indian market and protect the public from fraud. The ED and Binance have previously worked together to dismantle the E-Nugget scam, showcasing the success of their collective vigilance and cooperation in tackling financial crime.
