This DPP utilizes IOTA’s cutting-edge technology to enhance transparency and traceability throughout the entire lifecycle of electronic devices, following in the footsteps of their earlier Battery DPP initiative.
Part of the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI) Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) initiative, this prototype represents a remarkable advancement in electronics lifecycle management, thanks to the integration of IOTA’s technology.
New Prototype Revolutionizes Electronics Lifecycle Management
As a part of the European Blockchain Pre-Commercial Procurement project, which is funded by the European Commission, the IOTA Foundation has successfully developed two pre-commercial applications for Digital Product Passports (DPPs). In their description, they explain:
A DPP can cover various product types: from primary and secondary materials to components, assembled modules, brand-new products, and individual products with specific configurations and usage histories. In this use case, we focused on unique electronic/ICT products.
IOTA is actively seeking strategic partnerships with commercial organizations to further refine and bring this groundbreaking solution to the market, building upon the success of their Battery DPP initiative. They invite organizations interested in revolutionizing lifecycle management in the electronics sector to explore the vast opportunities for collaboration.
