Luban Update: Enhancements for BNB Network Activation on June 11

  • The update will be activated on June 11 at 21:30 UTC
  • Hardfork includes three offerings that will improve the network

The BNB Chain team has released details of the Luban update to the BNB network. It will be activated at block height 29,020,050 and will take place on June 11 at 21:30 UTC.

Hardfork Luban includes three different improvement proposals. These are BEP-126, BEP-174 and BEP-221, and their main goal is to make the network faster and safer for users.

BEP-126 offers the implementation of Fast Finality, which provides an undoable block once it is completed in the network.

This innovation greatly reduces the likelihood of unscrupulous participants interfering with the network and reorganizing, even if such a situation were to occur.

BEP-174 offers a “Repeater Management” concept that aims to reduce potential security problems in the BSC bridge.

In 2022, bridge attacks have become the biggest threat to security in the cryptocurrency industry, so implementing such solutions becomes critical in this area.

A third BEP-221 proposal offers a “CometBFT Light Block Validation” system that proposes adding a new contract to the blockchain that uses CometBFT technology.
