STEPN became the first blockchain-based gaming app to integrate with Apple Pay.
Representatives of the project explained that the integration will allow users to buy through the payment service NFT sneakers:
“Users will not need a cryptocurrency wallet to purchase NFT sneakers from STEPN. They can simply use Apple Pay for a quick, private and secure purchase.
Yawn Rong, co-founder of STEPN’s Find Satoshi Lab, believes the integration opens up a new audience, making Web3 more accessible to the masses.
“We think it’s an important step in getting the next 100 million users into Web3 technology,” said the businessman.
According to Dune Analytics, at its peak in May 2022, STEPN had more than 705,000 active users. A year later, the number of monthly users is just under 30,000.
Earlier in May, Apple allowed the developer of the popular NFT game Axie Infinity Sky Mavis to list it on the App Store for Latin America and Southeast Asia.
