MicroStrategy X account was hacked

  • The official MicroStrategy X page has been compromised.
  • A post was posted on it announcing a fake airdrop.
  • Preliminary damage is estimated at $440,000.

MicroStrategy’s official X (formerly Twitter) account was hacked. The attackers posted an announcement of a fake airdrop on the page.

The publication asked users to follow a link to authorize their wallet and take part in the distribution.

According to a crypto expert under the pseudonym ZachXBT, the preliminary damage is about $440,000. Scam Sniffer analysts noted that only one of the scam victims lost $424,786 in altcoins.

At the time of writing, the alleged hacker’s wallet contains $195,598 in assets.

The company did not comment on the situation. When preparing this material, the airdrop announcement was removed from the page.

Cases like this happen quite often. We previously reported that attackers hacked the Notcoin project account. At the same time, an announcement about the distribution was also posted on the page.

The same thing happened with the Arkham CEO page, but in this case the fraudulent post was deleted almost immediately.
