Missing bitcoin millionaire and co-founder of ONFO found dead

  • He was 49 years old
  • John Forsythe was found an hour away from where he was last seen
  • He had a gunshot wound

One of the co-founders of cryptocurrency project ONFO, John Forsythe, was found dead with gunshot wounds, about a week after he disappeared. Police so far have no reason to suspect that illegal activity has occurred here.

After Forsyth, an EMT and cryptocurrency advocate, failed to show up for his shift at Mercy Hospital in Cassville, his relatives declared him wanted May 21. His family reached out to the public on social media, asking for any information about his whereabouts.

John’s younger brother, Richard, noted that his brother never missed a shift, so this was a “red flag.”

Powers found Forsyth’s car parked about a mile from the hospital on May 28. Wallet, passport, laptop and work briefcase of John Forsythe were found in the unlocked car. His brother said:

“Even his cell phones were inside, which is very unusual because he always kept them with him. It doesn’t look like what he was planning,” Richard said on May 30.

But John Forsythe’s body was found on May 30 about an hour south of where he was last seen, with an apparent gunshot wound. Local police reported that there was no evidence of “foul play.”
