NFT from the 3AC collection was sold at a Sotheby’s auction for $6.2 million

Sotheby’s Grails: Part II auctioned today, June 16, which included digital art from the 3AC collection. Ringers #879, also known as “The Goose,” sold for $6.2 million.

The news that top pieces from the NFT collection of bankrupt Three Arrows Capital would be sold at a Sotheby’s auction back in April. The meeting was titled “Grails.”

This decision was approved at Teneo, the firm is in the process of liquidating 3AC.. Previously, the foundation’s collection included millions of dollars worth of digital art.

The Goose, for example, was acquired in 2021 for $5.66 million in ETH. Token became the jewel of the Starry Night Capital collection. The author of the painting is Dmitry Chernyak.

It is interesting that at the start of trading the price of the lot was estimated at $ 2-3 million.. But it sold for $6.2 million, far more than the amount the foundation originally paid for it.

Sotheby’s said that this was the second-largest sale of a generative art piece ever.. The NFT went to a rather well-known collector in the industry, Punk6529.
