Ondo Finance Brings OUSG and USDY to MakerDAO’s Grand Prix

Ondo Finance, a leading player in on-chain financial assets, has announced its participation in MakerDAO’s Spark Tokenization Grand Prix through a tweet. The company has submitted proposals for its flagship products, OUSG and USDY, with a combined Total Value Locked (TVL) of over $600 million. Ondo Finance aims to onboard $1 billion in tokenized financial assets, highlighting the growing relevance and demand for tokenized assets in the decentralized finance (DeFi) industry.

OUSG is a game-changer for blockchain-based peer-to-peer funds, offering lower costs, lower minimum investment criteria, and quick investment and redemption options. It guarantees daily interest distributions and has a significant portion of its assets invested in the BlackRock USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund (BUIDL). The collaboration between Ondo Finance and BlackRock enables direct conversions between OUSG and BUIDL, providing investors with exposure to real-world assets in a seamless manner.

USDY, another key offering from Ondo Finance, is a permissionless yieldcoin with a TVL of over $400 million. It has been incorporated into multiple systems across different blockchains, making it the most widely held yieldcoin of its type. USDY’s ability to provide deep liquidity and generate better yield makes it an ideal asset for the Sky Ecosystem. Ondo Finance’s ecosystem also offers high yields to its members, with USDY currently offering an annual percentage yield (APY) of 8.94%.

The increasing demand for yieldcoins and the potential for attractive returns in a low-interest rate environment have further boosted the interest in Ondo Finance’s tokenized assets. The company has also applied to incorporate USDY and OUSG in the Ethena Reserve Fund, indicating its intention to expand its operations in the DeFi space. Ondo Finance’s participation in MakerDAO’s Grand Prix demonstrates its commitment to driving the growth of decentralized finance and tokenized financial assets.
