Agrotoken, a company backed by payments giant Visa, has announced plans to issue its “agricultural stablecoin” on the Polkadot network.
Agrotoken co-founder and CTO Ariel Scaliter said the issuance of steblecoins backed by collateral in the form of grain and food offers users a direct equivalent to the value of the commodity in question. The Agrotoken project will be deployed on the Polkadot network;
The initial launch phase will involve tokenization of grains such as rice, soybeans, corn and wheat
