Polygon Launches PoS Bridge for Faster Asset Transfers from Ethereum

  • It will allow transfers from Ethereum
  • Transactions will take 30-60 minutes

Polygon announced the launch of the Polygon PoS bridge on the Polygon zkEVM network.

Recall that this is a new network that opened at the end of March in beta. We have detailed instructions on how to pass the test.

Polygon zkEVM is based on zero-knowledge proof technology (zk – zero knowledge).

It offers scalability solutions for dApps running on the Ethereum blockchain network.

Polygon Bridge Details

Polygon Bridge for Polygon zkEVM will get the same interface as its counterpart in the main Polygon PoS network.

However, there will be a number of improvements to the UX (user options). Including transaction history, a visible progress bar, and a dashboard of recent transactions with completion status.

Security issues

The concept of “bridges” in the crypto space is quite popular because it facilitates the transfer of assets between different blockchains. However, the technology is highly vulnerable to hacks.

The developers reported that zk bridges are much better than conventional bridges because they are fully regulated by smart contracts.

And with smart contracts from two networks at once, Polygon zkEVM and Ethereum.

The launch of Polygon Bridge for Polygon zkEVM allows users to withdraw coins from the Ethereum blockchain in just 30-60 minutes after starting a transaction.

Polygon Bridge will introduce support for popular ERC-20 tokens and advanced features for ERC-777 tokens.
