Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse: Voters Care About Crypto, XRP

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse recently emphasized the importance of crypto and Ripple’s XRP in the eyes of voters. In a post, Garlinghouse stated that voters are concerned about crypto and XRP and want policies that encourage innovation and job creation. He warned that candidates who ignore the crypto and blockchain space could potentially lose support from an informed and growing voter base.

To reinforce his point, Garlinghouse shared a viral video featuring a voter asking Elon Musk about XRP’s future in light of the SEC’s recent crackdown on cryptocurrencies. Musk neither endorsed nor criticized XRP specifically but acknowledged that crypto, by its very nature, promotes individual freedom.

The upcoming election season has witnessed crypto becoming a central topic in various campaigns. Both Presidential candidates, Donald Trump and Harris, are striving to appease the crypto industry and its supporters by presenting crypto-friendly policies.

Regarding efforts to gain favor from the next government, Ripple has attempted to maintain a diplomatic stance. Co-founder Chris Larsen donated $10 million to Harris’ campaign and associated organizations, while CTO David Schwartz supported Trump in a recent lawsuit against him.

Interestingly, Trump has also received substantial cryptocurrency donations, totaling around $7.5 million since June, with a significant portion originating from Ripple and other crypto companies.
