Robert Kennedy Jr. promises to support bitcoin after election

  • He said so in a recent press interview
  • The politician promised to ensure “free transactions” and leave only the minimum of necessary controls
  • In particular, this concerns AML compliance

Yesterday, June 22, NYP published an extensive interview with US presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.. Among other things, during the conversation, the politician promised to support bitcoin and freedom of payment in case of his victory.

We note that Kennedy Jr. is running for the Democratic Party. In the primaries, he won 20% of the vote within the blue camp. By comparison, Biden’s approval rate is 60 percent.

For a newcomer to the presidential race, Kennedy Jr. has garnered an astonishing number of supporters. He supports the cryptocurrency community and has even stated that he will accept donations for his campaign in BTC.

An interesting fact, Jack Dorsey, the former CEO of Twitter, believes that Kennedy Jr. has a good chance of winning the election. With Trump out of the picture, the Blues have no serious opponents left. As for Biden, there is a mature view within the party that the politician “can’t handle another term.”

In an interview with NYP, Kennedy Jr. once again stressed that he supports sensible regulation of the cryptocurrency industry:

“I will make sure that we have a government that supports BTC and the freedom of mutual settlements.. I want people to be able to manage their own accounts, nodes and keys. But I am also of the opinion that some AML control is still necessary.”

He also took the opportunity to express his views on CBDC:

“I am against the digital dollar.. It is a tool of control and oppression. It will surely be abused.”

Kennedy Jr.’s closest rival from the red camp, Ron DeSantis, holds a similar view. This could allow the blues to poach some of the wavering Americans who oppose Biden but are in no hurry to support Republicans.
