Roger Ver Issues Crucial Ross Ulbricht Bitcoin (BTC) X Post

Roger Ver, the well-known advocate of Bitcoin Cash, has taken to the X platform to bring attention to Ross Ulbricht, the founder of the Silk Road darknet marketplace. Ver highlighted that Ulbricht has been sentenced to a double lifetime term in prison without the possibility of parole. Ulbricht was arrested in 2013 at the age of 29, and the Silk Road, which facilitated the trading of illegal drugs for Bitcoin, was shut down the same year. Ver emphasized that the creation of the Silk Road played a crucial role in introducing Bitcoin to the world. He shared a link to a petition urging US authorities to release Ulbricht, which has garnered nearly 600,000 signatures. Ver stated that Ulbricht’s only “crime” was building a website that allowed people to trade freely without government intervention. In addition to his advocacy for Ulbricht, Ver recently co-authored a book called “Hijacking Bitcoin,” where he argues that Bitcoin has been corrupted by a select group of developers after Satoshi Nakamoto’s departure from the public space. The book portrays Bitcoin as an alternative to government-controlled money and central banks.
