Saturday roundup: Sui’s TVL milestone, OpenSea’s acquisition plans, and Farcaster Frames fun

A slow Saturday in the crypto world still had some noteworthy events, including Sui reaching a new milestone, an acquisition possibility for OpenSea, and the introduction of interactive Frames on Farcaster. Here is a recap of the crypto news from Saturday.

OpenSea, the popular NFT marketplace, expressed openness towards potential acquisitions, including the possibility of being acquired itself. CEO Devin Pinzer mentioned that while OpenSea currently has no plans for acquisitions, they are willing to consider the right partnership if it aligns with their goals (DL News).

Sui, a blockchain project founded less than a year ago by former members of Facebook’s Libra project, achieved a significant milestone by entering the top 10 chains by TVL (Total Value Locked). The team behind Sui aims to make cross-border money transfers as straightforward as sending an email (DefiLlama).

Drift Protocol, a Solana-based futures exchange, experienced a temporary pause in trading Rollbit (RLB) due to an oracle malfunction. Co-founder Cindy Leow assured users that their funds are safe and that they were closely monitoring the situation for any unusual activity (Drift Protocol).

Farcaster, a Web3 social media platform, introduced Frames on Friday, a new feature that allows developers to embed interactive experiences in their posts, known as Casts. Developers quickly put Frames to work, creating NFT minting capabilities, Doom gameplay, and even unusual viewing experiences of Christopher Nolan’s Tenet (Farcaster).

In ETF news, the newborn Bitcoin ETFs experienced a modest net inflow of $14.8 million on Friday, compared to outflows from Grayscale’s GBTC. The recent price gains of Bitcoin also propelled BlackRock’s ETF to surpass $2 billion in assets under management (Bitmex Research).

That’s a wrap for the crypto highlights of Saturday!
