Shiba Inu Burn Rate Skyrockets 1,664% as Mysterious Wallet Eradicates 250M SHIB
A sudden surge in the burn rate of Shiba Inu (SHIB) has been attributed to the actions of an unidentified wallet that obliterated a whopping 250 million SHIB tokens in a single transaction. This move marked a significant contribution to the ongoing burn campaign undertaken by the popular cryptocurrency project Living The Dream (LTD).
The transaction, which occurred at 14:55 (UTC) yesterday, was swiftly indexed by the renowned Shiba Inu community-driven burn tracker Shibburn. At the time of the transaction, the 250 million SHIB tokens had a dollar value of approximately $3,232.
While Shibburn refrained from revealing the identity of the wallet owner responsible for the transaction, data from Etherscan pointed towards the involvement of a new crypto venture named Living The Dream (LTD). Confirming the speculation, the LTD team released a statement on their official platform, acknowledging their burning of 250 million SHIB tokens along with an additional 1 billion LTD tokens.
The commitment shown by LTD to support the Shiba Inu project has been evident since its inception on August 30. The team has consistently conducted substantial token burns, with the destruction of 500 million SHIB tokens just last month, including an astonishing 280 million SHIB in a single transaction. These ongoing burn activities have been part of a campaign called “Shiba Burn Series” initiated by Living The Dream.
The continuous support provided by LTD in the Shiba Inu burn campaign is expected to have a significant impact on reducing SHIB’s circulating supply.
Following the substantial incineration executed by LTD, the burn rate of Shiba Inu experienced an astronomical surge of 1,664% in the past 24 hours. Over the course of a single day, a colossal amount of 250,898,588 (250.89 million) SHIB tokens were eradicated. These burns occurred through three separate transactions, with LTD’s 250 million SHIB burn being the most notable. In total, more than 41% of Shiba Inu’s initial supply of 1 quadrillion tokens has now been annihilated, equating to a colossal 410,728,736,646,852 (410.72 trillion) SHIB tokens.
At present, Shiba Inu boasts a maximum total supply of 589,271,261,353,147 (589.27 trillion) tokens. Of these, 583.45 trillion tokens are currently in circulation, while the remaining 5.81 trillion SHIB is staked on ShibaSwap.
