Shiba Inu Lead Responds to Vitalik Buterin, Says ‘He Won’t Be Surprised

Shiba Inu lead developer Shytoshi Kusama responded to Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin’s views on cross-L2 interoperability issues, expressing confidence that they could be resolved sooner than expected. Kusama agreed with Buterin’s belief that the problems related to different Layer 2 (L2) scaling solutions on the Ethereum network would be addressed sooner rather than later.

Cross-L2 interoperability refers to the seamless interaction between various L2 solutions, improving the user experience and scalability of the Ethereum network. Buterin had previously highlighted a lack of interoperability in depositing tokens to Polymarket through the Polygon L2 network, emphasizing the need for a more user-friendly and error-free process.

To address such concerns, Buterin has been advocating for Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) such as EIP-3770, EIP-7683, and EIP-3668. These proposals introduce readable prefixes for different chains, standardize cross-chain trade communication, and offer a standardized solution for Ethereum smart contracts to access off-chain data efficiently, respectively.

Buterin expressed optimism about the Ethereum community’s efforts to overcome interoperability challenges through these EIPs. He believes that users will soon experience a seamless interaction across different parts of the Ethereum ecosystem, including the main Ethereum blockchain (L1), rollups, validiums, and sidechains.

In response to Buterin’s optimism, Shytoshi Kusama, the lead developer of Shiba Inu, stated that he would not be surprised if cross-L2 issues were resolved sooner than expected. Notably, the Shiba Inu ecosystem includes Shibarium, an Ethereum layer-two scaling blockchain.

The statement from Kusama implies that there is confidence within the Shiba Inu community that interoperability issues on the Ethereum network will eventually be resolved in a timely manner.
