Shiba Inu’s Puppynet Gets Ethereum Upgrade for Smoother, Faster Transactions

Shiba Inu’s Puppynet is set to receive an Ethereum upgrade, enhancing the ecosystem’s security and scalability. The upgrade, targeting Puppynet’s testnet, will bring Ethereum’s “best practices” to Shibarium. Scheduled for Friday, the upgrade will introduce changes such as the Bor upgrade to version 1.3.7-bone-beta and the implementation of the Cancun hard fork. These improvements aim to optimize network performance, security, and efficiency, resulting in a smoother user experience. By integrating Ethereum’s core software, Geth, into Shibarium’s testnet, users can expect faster smart contract execution, improved peer-to-peer networking, and enhanced block propagation. The upgrade also strengthens the network’s proof-of-stake bridge, enabling seamless cross-chain asset transfers. Gas fees will be optimized, making transactions more affordable, and historical block data will be pruned to conserve disk space. These updates not only provide quicker transactions and better security but also offer stable cross-chain transfers and improved disk management. The Shiba Inu team believes these advancements could drive Shibarium’s adoption and potentially increase the burn rate of the SHIB token. To benefit from the upgrade, node operators are advised to update their software accordingly. This upgrade highlights Shiba Inu’s commitment to advancing the SHIB ecosystem, following their recent plan to introduce decentralized governance.
