Sony invested $3.5 million in Startale Labs

  • It’s an infrastructure provider from Japan
  • The parties previously launched a joint business incubator for Web3 startups
  • This is not Sony’s first targeted project focused on blockchain solutions and connected technologies

Sony Network Communications announced a deeper collaboration with Startale Labs yesterday, June 28. As part of the agreement, the corporate giant is investing $3.5 million in the firm to develop new Web3 solutions and infrastructure.

“We are pleased to strengthen our partnership with Startale Labs, a company with advanced technology and expertise in Web3. Together we set up a business incubator to support ideas aimed at developing the field.”

This is a joint initiative between the two companies announced in February.. It is a Web3 startup incubator aimed at sustaining and stimulating the market in Asia.</nbsp;

Worthy, as part of the collaboration, Jun Watanabe will take over as director at Startale Labs. And another interesting detail, the CEO and founder of the firm is Sota Watanabe, although there is no information about their relationship.</nbsp;

The two companies will work together to explore new solutions and ways to implement them to stimulate the development of Web3. But it is not yet known which projects are involved.

It should be noted that Startale Labs is an infrastructure provider.. The company aims to create “Web3 for billions of users”. But for now, the firm is focused on work in Japan. Earlier we reported that Sony is trying to get a patent on the technology for tracking game NFT and collectibles. This will allow us to work out a clear mechanism for copyright protection.
