Tel Aviv stock exchange to add new crypto products

  • TASE has partnered with Fireblocks. As part of the agreement, the exchange will bring new cryptocurrency services to the local market.
  • The parties have previously collaborated on Project Eden. The project involved issuing government bonds on blockchain.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) announced a collaboration with the Fireblocks platform. As part of this agreement, the organization plans to introduce regulated cryptocurrency products to the local market.

“The partnership between TASE and Fireblocks is a huge leap forward in the development of the entire cryptoasset landscape. We are committed to revolutionizing the industry and the local capital markets. This cooperation demonstrates our commitment in providing transparent and reliable solutions in this area,” said Orly Greenfeld, head of clearing at the exchange.

The partnership is in line with a global project between TASE and the Israeli Ministry of Finance called Project Eden, the organization stressed. The initiative’s preliminary test ended in early June 2023.

The goal of the project is to issue Israel’s digital bonds based on the government’s blockchain platform. It involved FireBlock and BlockFold.

TASE announced plans to develop its own digital asset platform back in 2022. At the time, the exchange also noted that it was considering launching a basket of cryptocurrencies. But exactly what that is about is not yet known.
