Terra CEO Chris Amani Confirms Plan If Talks Fail

Terra CEO Chris Amani has confirmed that if talks with third parties fail, the company will proceed with its plan to shut down its operations, products, and services. This announcement comes after Terraform Labs received an order from a bankruptcy court to cease operations following a settlement with the SEC.

On September 25, Terraform Labs announced progress in talks with third parties to outsource certain products and services. However, with low interest in the products and scrutiny from the US SEC, it is unlikely that these talks will succeed. As a result, Terraform Labs is preparing to shut down its products and services on October 30, 2024. The company is also selling four of its businesses: Enterprise Protocol, Warp Protocol, Station Wallet, and Alliance Hub.

While some services, such as Finder Block Explorer, Foundation, IBC Relayers and Mantlemint, FCD and API, are being considered for acquisition, potential parties are facing challenges with the infrastructure requirements for these services. In response to the news about LUNC, the community plans to burn tokens. The date for token burning coincides with the closure of the Shuttle Bridge interface for burning crypto assets like wLUNC in contracts. TFL has also completed its final upgrade and will no longer be able to support future chain upgrades. Instead, community-backed initiatives will take over the maintenance and operation of the chain.

It remains to be seen how the talks with third parties will unfold and what the future holds for Terraform Labs and its products/services.
