- Chris Amani said the company has a lot of work ahead of it.
- Terra will release “possibly nine” different projects in the coming months.
Recently appointed Terra CEO Chris Amani hosted “A Terra Community Talk” on Twitter on the topic of separating Terraform Labs’ activities from the personal affairs of Do Kwon, who was arrested at an airport in Montenegro in March 2023.
New York prosecutors have charged him with fraud, and in June Montenegrin prosecutors filed charges of making and using a fake passport. At the time of writing, Kwon is in prison in Montenegro. He faces possible extradition to South Korea or the U.S.
Amani said the company still has a lot of work to do because the allegations against the ex-director of Terraform Labs have significantly slowed down the process of advancing projects that are in development.
“Every time we made a little bit of progress, there were some allegations or other obstacles that got us off the right track,” Amani said.
The new CEO commented on Kwon’s situation during the conversation, saying it’s very hard for him to see what the latter is going through right now.
Amani also talked about Terra’s current developments and said that there are plans to release “maybe nine” projects in the coming months, which are in various stages of development as of this writing. He added that none of them will have their own token, as the main goal is to “return utility” to LUNA.
Chris Amani was appointed CEO of Terraform Labs on July 19. He has been with the company since 2021, having previously served first as COO and then CFO.
