Tether and Bitfinex donated $100,000 to keep Qubes OS private

  • It’s a completely private, open-source OS
  • The potential of this solution was once recognized by Edward Snowden
  • He called the OS the best choice for those who really care about their privacy

USDNA issuer Tether and the Bitfinex exchange announced a joint initiative to support the development of Qubes OS. It is a private, open-source operating system.. Tether CTO Paolo Ardoino commented on the news:

“We recognize the paramount importance of privacy and security in the digital age. We are happy to support the development of Qubes OS, an advanced operating system known primarily for its security.”

This OS uses a mechanism with individual nodes, “qubes,” that allows you to isolate individual tasks and applications. In this way, complete user privacy is achieved.

It is remarkable that even Edward Snowden recognized the potential of Qubes OS.. In 2016, he said that he himself uses this solution, and supposedly there is no project that uses virtual machine isolation better.

“We gladly welcome the initiative of Tether and Bitfinex. This support for our open source project is critical to its continued growth and ensuring that our OS remains best-in-class,” commented the Qubes OS team.

Ironic that it is Tether that is so proactive in opposing censorship and control. Recall, earlier we covered the material that the USDT was secured by Chinese securities. Naturally, this led to rumors about the company’s ties to China.
