The Central Bank of the Russian Federation presented the logo of the digital ruble and set transaction rates

The CBR Board of Directors presented a logo and approved tariffs for digital ruble transactions. Digital currency transfers will be free for individuals, but businesses will have to pay for each transaction.

Representatives of the regulator emphasized that free transactions in digital rubles for citizens should make the state digital currency more popular and accessible to Russian residents.

As for the tariffs for legal entities, the commission for accepting payment for goods and services with digital rubles will be 0.3% of the payment amount (but not more than 1.5 thousand rubles).. rubles). At the same time, for companies operating in the housing and utilities sector, the commission will be much lower – 0.2%, but not more than 10 rubles. Transfers between legal entities will cost 15 rubles for each transaction.

Until January 1, 2025, the Central Bank of Russia has set a grace period – all transactions in the national digital currency for both individuals and businesses will be free of charge.

“Every individual or company will be able to open one digital ruble account (digital wallet) on the Bank of Russia’s platform. It will be free to do so. Likewise, there will be no fees for replenishing such wallets from one’s bank accounts or for transferring digital rubles from wallets to bank accounts,” the regulator said in a statement.

In addition, the Bank of Russia presented the logo of the digital ruble. As stated by the representatives of the Central Bank of Russia, the circle in the logo repeats the shape of the traditional coin and overlaps with the logo of the Bank of Russia. Well, the ruble sign inscribed in the circle has been known for a long time.

Recently, Olga Skorobogatova, the first deputy governor of the Bank of Russia, said that the authorities will not organize total surveillance of the country’s citizens with the help of the digital ruble.
