The Dencun update was successfully deployed to the Sepolia testnet

  • On January 30, the Sepolia testnet was successfully updated to Dencun. Next up is Holesky.
  • Users noted the appearance of the first blobs. The main upgrade functions work stably.

On January 30, 2024, the Dencun update was successfully deployed to the Sepolia testnet. In the Holesky test network, the upgrade will presumably take place on February 7, 2024.

Previously, the update was deployed on the Goerli testnet. At the same time, the developers encountered an error, presumably caused by a failure in the synchronization of validators.

The upgrade on the Sepolia testnet began at 22:51 UTC (00:51 Kyiv time) and ended around 23:10 UTC (02:10 Kyiv time). This is the second of three phases leading up to the deployment of Dencun on the Ethereum mainnet.

Previously, we discussed this update in detail and what will change in the blockchain after it:

The community noted that the main functions of Dencun work stably in Sepolia. This particularly applies to binary large objects (blobs).
