The dismembered body of a cryptomillionaire was found in Argentina

Police have found a missing cryptocurrency businessman from Argentina dead, local media reported.

On July 23, a group of children in the town of Ingeniero Baje found a suitcase at the site of a dried-up stream. As it turned out, it involved the amputation of Fernando Perez Algaba’s legs and forearms. A day later, police found the 41-year-old man’s torso, and on July 25, they recovered a backpack containing his head.

After analyzing fingerprints and tattoos, the body of the missing millionaire was identified. A further autopsy found he was shot three times before being dismembered.

Investigators speculate that the motive for killing Algaba may have been his debts. As of this writing, one suspect has been detained in connection with the case.

Media reports that Perez Algaba left a note on his cell phone explaining that he had lost a significant amount of money invested in cryptocurrencies. In addition, he wrote in his message, “If something happens to me, everyone has been warned.”

He was also in trouble with the local Barra Bravas gang, which demanded that the businessman pay them back $40,000.
