USDC Stablecoin issuer, Circle, hires new chief legal officer. The position will be filled by former chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Git Tarbert.

Before assuming his duties at Circle, Git spent 18 months at the CFTC. More specifically, he worked at Citadel Securities, a marketing firm where he also held a top legal position.

Jeremy Allaire, co-founder and CEO of Circle, said:

“Git joining our executive team opens Circle as a global company to incredible opportunities in experience and leadership. Our goal is to build bridges between the traditional financial sector and the Web3, and Heath’s perspective and extensive legal and global regulatory experience will allow us to spread the value of the USDC widely throughout the global marketplace.”

Circle is also actively expanding its political activities in Washington, DC, particularly by hiring new employees. The move is intended to attract the support of lawmakers for the company’s technology. Recently, Allaire appeared on the cover of Forbes magazine with the headline “Please Regulate Us,” reflecting the company’s willingness to cooperate with regulators.
