USDC Stablecoin issuer, Circle, hires new chief legal officer. The position will be filled by former chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Git Tarbert.
Before assuming his duties at Circle, Git spent 18 months at the CFTC. More specifically, he worked at Citadel Securities, a marketing firm where he also held a top legal position.
Jeremy Allaire, co-founder and CEO of Circle, said:

Our goal is to build bridges between the traditional financial sector and the Web3, and Heath’s perspective and extensive legal and global regulatory experience will allow us to spread the value of the USDC widely throughout the global marketplace.”

The move is intended to attract the support of lawmakers for the company’s technology.
