An industry expert going by the name CryptoYunqi has revealed that Chinese mobile operator China Telecom has officially launched the sale of their blockchain-enabled SIM cards, known as BSIM. This exciting project is a collaboration between China Telecom and developers from the Conflux Network. The news comes amidst growing anticipation and speculation about the introduction of these innovative SIM cards, which were first rumored to be in development in early 2023.

The primary objective of the BSIM project, as stated by the developers, is to make Web3 solutions more accessible to the general public, thereby simplifying their engagement with blockchain technology. Notably, these advanced SIM cards come equipped with a remarkable feature; they can securely store private keys and crypto assets using a built-in cold wallet. CryptoYunqi has further disclosed that users will have to pay a monthly fee of $5.5 to avail of the BSIM card. Along with this, they will also enjoy the benefits of 70GB of internet data and 500 minutes for calls. It is important to note that as of now, neither China Telecom nor Conflux Network has made an official statement regarding the commencement of sales for BSIM cards.
