The Open Platform Boosts Crypto Accessibility with Global Rollout of Wallet in Telegram

Dubai-based investment platform, The Open Platform (TOP), has officially initiated the worldwide deployment of its Wallet within the Telegram Messenger app, marking a significant leap toward mass adoption of TON blockchain technology. The announcement was made at The Gateway, the inaugural event of the TON ecosystem, where TOP also introduced additional features for TON Space, their self-custody crypto solution.

Dubbed as a groundbreaking move, the integration of Wallet into the Telegram settings menu aims to make cryptocurrency storage more accessible to a global audience. The move aligns with TOP’s commitment to simplifying the Web3 ecosystem and expediting the widespread use of products and services built on the TON blockchain.

“I’m happy to announce that the global rollout of Wallet in Telegram starts today.

It’s a very exciting moment, and our team worked very hard.

We’re starting with selected countries in Africa, expanding to MENA, EE, and Asia in Q1 2024, and to the entire world by Q2 2024.”

Innovating the Crypto Landscape

Earlier this year, during the TOKEN2049 conference in Singapore, TOP unveiled its plan to enable users to access Wallet directly within the Telegram settings, even for those who hadn’t previously registered with the service. The official confirmation came through a Telegram post by Pavel Durov, the founder of Telegram.

The first phase of the global rollout, which commenced today, will see Wallet accessible in the Telegram settings menu for users in select African and Latin American countries, including Colombia, South Africa, and Kenya. The expansion will continue in Q1 of 2024, reaching countries like Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, and Turkey, with the rest of the world following in Q2 of 2024.

The integration of Wallet into Telegram’s settings menu is expected to simplify the process of sending and storing crypto assets, making it as straightforward as sharing a picture within a chat. At The Gateway event, TOP also unveiled additional features for TON Space, their self-custody crypto solution.

Users will now be able to execute decentralized swaps within TON Space, and a new functionality allowing seamless transfer of NFTs was introduced. The NFT transfer feature includes an escrow service to ensure secure transactions of digital collectibles. This addition aims to broaden the scope of NFT transactions, making the platform more inclusive for the exchange of digital assets, even for those without an existing Wallet account.

CEO of TOP, Andrew Rogozov, emphasized the strategic importance of these enhancements, stating, “These strategic enhancements to Wallet and TON Space underscore our continued dedication to simplifying the crypto experience for mainstream audiences while maintaining robust security features. As TOP continues to innovate on TON, these updates are just the beginning of our vision of making a new decentralized economy a reality.”

In a bid to enhance user experience, all TON Space users now have access to the swap feature, made possible through a strategic partnership with STON.FI, a leading TON-based decentralized exchange (DEX). Looking ahead, TON Space plans to further enhance user experience by integrating DEX aggregation in 2024.

Overall, the integration of Wallet into Telegram and the enriched features of TON Space not only mark a shift towards a more inclusive platform for digital asset exchange but also pave the way for a new decentralized economy. With these updates, TOP is positioning itself at the forefront of shaping the future of cryptocurrency, making strides toward a more accessible, secure, and user-friendly blockchain ecosystem.
