TON Back Online After Second Outage

TON Successful Back Online Following Second Outage

The TON blockchain has successfully resumed operations after experiencing a second outage.

Following the announcement, Toncoin has seen an increase of approximately 8% in its value.

Within a span of 24 hours, TON encountered another setback but has managed to recover swiftly.

“TON network is now fully operational! Users can expect their TON-based asset withdrawals and deposits to be processed shortly,” shared the TON Community Telegram channel on Thursday morning at 9:30 AM Hong Kong time.

The outage duration was slightly over four hours, with TON attributing it to an overload caused by DOGS token minting.

This incident marks the second outage in just under two days. The network experienced a pause on Tuesday afternoon in the U.S. timezone but restarted shortly after midnight. Observers initially speculated that DOGS were to blame, and TON later confirmed this after the network crashed again.

According to data from CoinDesk Indices, Toncoin, the native token of the TON protocol, has witnessed an approximate 8% surge in response to the news.

However, the token’s current trading level remains below its pre-arrest value of Telegram CEO Pavel Durov.

While Telegram and TON are legally separate entities, they maintain a close affiliation as both depend on each other.

During Wednesday’s local time, Durov was indicted in a French court on various charges, including facilitating illicit transactions and child exploitation on the platform. Additionally, he is accused of non-cooperation with police and offering encryption services without appropriate controls, following his recent arrest near Paris.
