Vietnam Embarks on Path to Blockchain Dominance with Ambitious 2030 Vision
Vietnam is making a bold move in the world of blockchain with the introduction of its National Blockchain Strategy. This comprehensive strategy, approved by Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc, aims to position Vietnam as a regional leader in blockchain technology by 2030.
The strategy outlines several key objectives and vision for the future. Vietnam plans to establish 20 recognized blockchain brands and create three blockchain testing centers or special zones across major cities to form a national blockchain network. Additionally, the country aims to be among the top 10 blockchain training and research institutions in Asia.
To achieve these goals, Vietnam has devised an action plan for the period of 2024-2030. It includes clarifying the legal framework for blockchain applications, building a comprehensive blockchain ecosystem, training a skilled workforce, promoting research and technology transfer, and fostering international cooperation.
The Vietnam Blockchain Association (VBA) will play a pivotal role in implementing the strategy. The VBA will focus on developing domestic blockchain platforms, establishing operational mechanisms for blockchain networks, encouraging collaboration among local tech firms, and ensuring compliance with international standards.
The strategic impact of the National Blockchain Strategy on Vietnam’s digital economy is profound. It aims to build trust in digital transactions, enhance data security, and support technological innovation. The government believes that blockchain adoption will stimulate economic growth, improve public services, and create new job opportunities, ultimately establishing Vietnam as a competitive player in the global digital landscape.
