XRP Ledger (XRPL) to Get Major AMM Update in 14 Days

XRP Ledger (XRPL) is gearing up for a significant update to its Automated Market Maker (AMM) feature. This update, called “fixAMMOverflowOffer,” aims to address issues related to the handling of large synthetic AMM offers. Although the protocol is currently functioning well, this update will provide necessary improvements as the AMM engine gains more users in the future.

The voting process for this update revealed strong support from network validators, with 30 positive votes out of 35, surpassing the required consensus of 80%. Notable supporters of the amendment included Ripple Labs Inc, while Bitso and four other validators voted against it.

The update is now in the 14-day activation countdown, and it is expected to go live on April 11. This update aligns with XRPL’s broader strategic growth plans, aiming to compete with other layer-1 protocols in the blockchain ecosystem.

In addition to the AMM launch, XRPL has been implementing various updates to enhance its functionality. The recently released Clawback feature protects developers from risks associated with hacks and fraudulent transactions. Furthermore, the XRPL has additional upgrades in the pipeline, such as “fixInnerObjTemplate” and “fixNFTokenReserve.” These ongoing developments demonstrate XRPL’s commitment to innovation and staying competitive in the blockchain industry.
