Zelensky: corrupt officials in TCC took bribes in cryptocurrency

  • The President of Ukraine held a regular meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC).
  • The participants discussed the results of the TCK inspection.
  • According to the head of state, the investigation revealed numerous cases of bribery, including in cryptocurrency.

President Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) on August 11, 2023. Among other things, the head of state noted the high level of corruption in territorial acquisition centers (TACs):

“A total of 112 criminal cases have already been brought against civil servants of military commissaries. 33 suspects. Managers, employees of VVK, other employees. Abuse in different areas,” the president emphasized.

According to Zelensky, corrupt officials took bribes, including in digital assets:

“Some took cash, some – cryptocurrency. The only difference is this. Cynicism is the same everywhere. Illegal enrichment, legalization of funds obtained by criminal means, undue advantage, illegal transfer of military conscripts abroad.”

We would like to recall that in May 2023, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine announced plans to check the cryptocurrency sector.

Before that, in March, experts from the cryptocurrency exchange Binance held a training session for employees of the Security Service of Ukraine on combating cybercrime.

In August, the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine published a report on budget losses from the activities of cryptocurrency exchanges.
