Alphapo platform lost at least $31 million in a hack

As reported by experts at DeFi Web3 Antivirus, attackers have withdrawn at least $31 million worth of ETH, BTC and TRX from hot crypto wallets on the Alphapo crypto platform

According to experts, the funds were transferred to the Avalanche and Bitcoin blockchains. However, the exact number of stolen cryptocurrencies is unknown, so the numbers could be even higher. At this point, the investigation is ongoing.

Alphapo is a payment platform that offers instant transactions with over 30 digital assets. The company is the crypto gateway for a number of gaming platforms including HypeDrop, Ignition and Bovada. Following the incident, HypeDrop stopped processing cryptocurrency transactions. 

“We kindly ask all our users to refrain from sending funds to old deposit addresses. However, if this happens, the funds received will be further vetted,” Alpharo said.

Recently, a North Korean hacking group hacked into the servers of US-based enterprise software developer JumpCloud and used them as a springboard to attack cryptocurrency companies.

Earlier, attackers hacked the Twitter account of the founder of decentralized exchange Uniswap to publish phishing links. The businessman has already regained access to his account.
