FPG cryptocurrency broker disabled withdrawals after hacking

Cryptobroker Floating Point Group (FPG), which has $50 billion in assets under management, reported a “cybersecurity incident” and stopped trading and depositing and withdrawing funds.

So far, there aren’t too many details about the hack. FPG officials said they are working with outside companies to investigate the incident. In order to protect customer funds from risks, all customer accounts and wallets were blocked and the assets themselves were moved.<br

At the moment, the company’s specialists are trying to understand the scale of the hack and the resulting damage.. FPG’s losses are now estimated at between $15 million and $20 million.

“We are working with the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security, our regulators and Chainalysis to understand how the hacking occurred and recover the assets. Since law enforcement is investigating, we can’t share details at this time, but we will keep you updated as news emerges,” said a cryptocurrency broker representative.

Earlier, cryptocurrency wallet Atomic Wallet was hacked. Wallet users lost more than $100 million in assets.<br
