Oasis Recovers $140 Million Stolen in Wormhole Attack with Help of White Hat Hackers

Oasis, a decentralized platform, announced that it had successfully retrieved a substantial amount of funds that were stolen by hackers during the Wormhole gateway breach, thanks to the efforts of white hat hackers. The Wormhole Bridge served as a crucial link between Solana network and other popular blockchains such as Ethereum.

The attack resulted in a total loss of $325 million, but the Oasis Protocol team, in collaboration with white hat hackers, was able to retrieve $140 million. The developers received the funds on their addresses.

Jump Trading Group’s President and Director, stated that they collaborate closely with both public and private organizations to combat hackers.

“We work closely with both public and private organizations. There are enough technologies that can track down such criminals.. And we are constantly participating in this fight,” said Dave Olsen, President and Director of Jump Trading Group.

It’s important to note that in 2022, the cryptocurrency industry witnessed the most significant number of hacker attacks, as reported by Chainalysis, resulting in a total loss of $3.8 billion for crypto firms.
