The dismembered corpse of a Spanish cryptomillionaire is found in Argentina

The dismembered corpse of Spanish cryptomillionaire Fernando Perez Algaba, who had been showing off his lavish lifestyle on social media,

has been found in Argentina.

Local police said the remains of 41-year-old cryptocurrency investor Fernando Pérez Algaba were discovered in the town of Ingeniero Budhe, Buenos Aires province. Children playing by the creek came across a red suitcase containing the severed legs and one arm of Algaba. The children’s parents contacted police, and law enforcement officers who arrived on the scene found the murdered man’s other hand in the creek during searches. His head and torso were later found.. An autopsy revealed that Algaba was shot three times before his body was dismembered. Forensic experts noted that the body parts were neatly chopped up, so there could have been “professionals” at work here.

Algaba was identified by his tattoos.. The man positioned himself as a cryptocurrency millionaire, posting photos and videos of luxury cars he rented for cryptocurrencies to his one million Instagram followers.

Last March, Algaba was interviewed by several publications, telling his story of a migrant who was able to succeed in a foreign country by investing in crypto assets. According to Algaba, he started working at age 14 selling sandwiches. He used his savings to buy a motorcycle and then sold it, and at the age of 24, the entrepreneur became involved in buying and selling cars. The man later turned to investing in crypto assets. Algaba previously lived in Barcelona before moving to Miami, making what he claimed was a fortune.

In the week before his death, he was spending time in Argentina. The crypto investor was reported missing on Tuesday, when he was supposed to return the keys to the apartment he was staying in for a residency. Algaba’s brother, Rodolfo Perez, said the slain man had financial problems due to investments in cryptocurrencies, loans and debts to Argentine tax authorities. In addition, Algaba left a note claiming he had received death threats from the son of one of the leaders of the dangerous Barras Bravas organized crime group, demanding $40,000.

The main version of the investigation is that the cryptocurrency entrepreneur fell victim to criminals by failing to pay his debts. Perez said he will not stop searching for his brother’s killers and hopes justice will be served.

Last year, MakerDAO co-founder Nicholas Muchgian was found dead in Puerto Rico. Shortly before his death, he tweeted that he “posed a threat to the Central Bank Cartel and the CIA.”
