The number of Worldcoin users has reached 2 million

The number of registered users in Worldcoin, the project of ChatGPT’s founder, has reached 2 million. This was revealed by representatives of the company itself.

On average, about 40000 people sign up for World ID each week. The protocol identifies users by scanning a scan of the iris with a device called Orbs. Each user gets 25 WLD for verification.

“Two million registered users in World ID is more than an accomplishment for the Worldcoin community. This is the result of our efforts to make digital identity more accessible to everyone,” said representatives for ChatGPT s creator Sam Altman.

The developers promise that to meet the increased demand, the availability of Orbs will increase significantly in the coming months.

Earlier, company officials announced that Spain has become the largest operating market for Worldcoin in Europe. Since its launch in Madrid just over a year ago, already more than 150,000 people from Spain have registered on the app.

In May 2023, it was reported that users from the People’s Republic of China, who are banned from registering on the Worldcoin crypto project, are resorting to buying biometric data from third parties in Africa in the hope of receiving bonuses after the project’s launch;
