“Golden Goose” from Three Arrows Capital’s NFT collection went under the hammer for $6.2 million

NFT titled “Golden Goose” from the GRAILS collection of bankrupt cryptocurrency hedge fund Three Arrows Capital sold at auction at Sotheby’s for $6.2 million.

“Ringers #879 (The Goose) just sold for $6.2 million,” Sotheby’s announced.

The Goose, a collector’s item by Canadian artist Dmitry Chernyak, was purchased by Three Arrows Capital co-founders Su Zhu and Kyle Davies in August 2021 for about 1,800 ETH, which was about $6 million at the time.

Sotheby’s expected the Goose to be valued at $2-3 million, but the NFT bought it for $5.4 million. Including commissions, the purchase exceeded $6.2 million.

Three Arrows Capital is trying to raise money in this way to compensate customers;

Three Arrows fund goes bankrupt in 2022 as cryptocurrency market falls. Teneo liquidator talked about plans to sell the digital collection back in February. Later, it was decided to collaborate with the Sotheby’s auction house to sell collectible tokens.<br
