The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in Thailand has issued a stern warning to all trading platforms operating within the country. The SEC has stated that any advertisement promoting cryptocurrency investments that violate local laws will not be tolerated.
Anek Yooyuen, the Deputy Secretary General of the Commission, expressed concern over crypto exchanges offering special privileges to registered users. He emphasized that advertising should not contain any misleading information and that all promotions must include appropriate warnings about investment risks.
The SEC has made it clear that if any violations are found on the part of trading platforms, they will be punished in accordance with the law.
Earlier this year, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand also announced its plans to block unauthorized cryptocurrency platforms in order to protect users and combat money laundering.
