Analyst: Nine Spot Bitcoin ETFs Control Over 100,000 BTC

  • Nine US Bitcoin funds have over 100,000 BTC under management, as reported by K33Research analyst.
  • BlackRock currently holds the largest number of bitcoins among these funds.

In a recent tweet by K33Research analyst, it was revealed that nine Bitcoin ETFs now have more than 100,000 BTC in their accounts. The accumulation of this amount took these ETFs just seven trading days. BlackRock, one of the leading investment management companies, notably became the third-largest BTC investment vehicle globally within the same timeframe. Additionally, Fidelity has also entered the top four BTC investment vehicles.

These findings are consistent with the data reported by experts, stating that as of January 22, 2024, the total BTC owned by companies offering Bitcoin spot funds is 109,221 BTC. Notably, this figure does not include the BTC managed by Grayscale.

An analysis by K33Research reveals that BlackRock’s IBIT fund currently holds the highest number of bitcoins, with 40,213 BTC. Fidelity’s FBTC fund holds the second-largest amount, with 34,152 BTC.

Furthermore, a report by analyst Eric Balchunas indicates that excluding the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC), these Bitcoin ETFs raised a total of $3.95 billion in just six days of trading.
