Bitcoin Tops Crypto Priority for Blackrock Clients as IBIT Holdings Reach 243K BTC

Bitcoin remains the top priority for clients of asset management firm Blackrock, according to the firm’s head of digital assets. Speaking at Bitcoin Investor Day in New York City, Robert Mitchnick stated that “bitcoin is overwhelmingly the number one priority” for their clients, with Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies receiving less attention. Blackrock’s spot bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF), the Ishares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), has seen significant growth since its launch, accumulating approximately 243,000 bitcoins. Mitchnick explained that Blackrock’s clients have varying levels of experience and understanding of cryptocurrency, and the firm provides insights on market dynamics and portfolio construction to meet their needs. The popularity of IBIT suggests that investors are choosing the fund for bitcoin exposure, both newcomers to the cryptocurrency and those with previous exposure in other forms.
