Crypto exchange Bit2Me raises $15 million investment

  • The company is looking to expand its presence in Latin America
  • This is the fourth round of funding for the exchange
  • In total, Bit2Me has raised about $22 million

Spanish cryptocurrency exchange Bit2Me announced it has raised $15 million in investment. The funding round was led by Investcorp, with participation from Cardano Foundation, Yield Guild Games (YGG), Telefonica Innovation Ventures, Stratminds VC.</nbsp;

The exchange said in a statement that the new capital is being used to expand operations in its native Spain, as well as distribution in Latin America.

Leif Ferreira, co-founder and CEO of Bit2Me, said: 

“The funding provided will help attract new customers through Investcorp, an international partner with great financial potential, and Telefónica, which will provide us additional channels in Latin America.”

The latest fundraising is the fourth in the history of the exchange. In total, Bit2Me managed to raise about $22 million.

The Bit2Me exchange acquired a majority stake in Peruvian company Fluyez in July 2022. This demonstrates their expansion strategy in the markets of Chile, Colombia, and Uruguay. In February this year, the company received permission from the Bank of Spain to provide services for the exchange of digital currency into fiat currency and storage of digital wallets.
