GameStop, Nvidia Short Seller Andrew Left Surrenders on Fraud Charges

GameStop, Nvidia short seller Andrew Left has surrendered to authorities in Los Angeles on fraud charges. Left, known for his disdain for meme stocks like GameStop, is facing criminal charges issued by the Justice Department and allegations of “bait-and-switch” tactics from the Securities and Exchange Commission. The indictment states that Left misrepresented his trading positions publicly and manipulated stock prices to make a profit. Left’s attorney expects him to be released from custody, although prosecutors are seeking a bond of several million dollars. The SEC has also filed charges against Left, accusing him of buying and selling stocks based on his own recommendations, resulting in significant price movements.
