io.net Appoints Tory Green as CEO to Drive GPU Network Growth
io.net, a trailblazer in Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks (DePIN), has announced Tory Green as its new CEO. Green, who previously served as COO of io.net, will take over from Ahmad Shadid and lead the company in expanding its Internet of GPUs.
Bringing more than 20 years of experience as a tech industry entrepreneur, investor, and C-level executive, Green is well-equipped to take on his new role. As the former COO, he played a pivotal part in shaping io.net’s strategic objectives and growth trajectory. With an understanding of the challenges involved in building a decentralized physical infrastructure network to compete with centralized incumbents, Green is primed to drive the company’s success.
Having led the company’s Series A funding round and overseen day-to-day operations in the months preceding the leadership transition, Green has already played a vital role in io.net’s development. As CEO, his primary focus will be to establish operational excellence and discipline within the new leadership team. Strengthening the Business Development and Technical teams and appointing new leaders will be crucial for io.net’s next phase of expansion.
Expressing his gratitude for the appointment, Green stated, “I’m honored to be appointed CEO of io.net and to build upon the remarkable achievements that have brought the company to its current position. io.net has made significant strides in the past five years, transforming from an idea into a major player driving AI innovation and providing revenue for GPU and CPU suppliers worldwide. However, we have only just begun.”
Green added, “With IOG Network, we have proven the viability of DePIN in creating a flourishing two-sided marketplace that enables AI startups to access the compute power they need on-demand. Now, our focus is on expanding our global network to position io.net at the forefront of the AI revolution while offering greater opportunities for GPU suppliers.”
Supported by the existing leadership team, Green’s transition from COO to CEO ensures continuity in the company’s strategic vision and trajectory. Before joining io.net, Green spent seven years as a venture capitalist at Tiller Partners, supporting portfolio companies in various operational roles, including COO, CRO, and CFO. He most recently served as COO and CFO of Hum Capital.
His previous experience includes positions at renowned companies such as The Walt Disney Company, Merrill Lynch, Tiller Partners, Hum Capital, Oaktree Capital Management, and 21st Century Fox. Green’s diverse operational, financial, and strategic background has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of the industry.
In addition, io.net’s self-service platform has generated over $1 million in employee earnings within just seven months of its launch. The company has also established a robust managed services division with $200,000 in monthly revenue. Currently, the network boasts 26,000 cluster-ready GPUs and CPUs available for on-demand deployment, as well as over 250,000 verified GPUs and CPUs that have successfully completed Proof of Work verification.
With Green at the helm, io.net is poised to propel its GPU network growth and consolidate its position as a leader in the AI revolution.
