Kazakhstan blocked access to the websites of five crypto exchangers

In the Republic of Kazakhstan, searches were carried out at the addresses of several crypto exchangers in the northern part of the country. The police seized documents, computer equipment and cryptocurrency wallets.

The Financial Monitoring Agency (AFM) of the Republic of Kazakhstan announced the liquidation of a group of people involved in the exchange of cryptocurrencies. The group members organized auctions through several sites: kzobmen.com, 1wm.kz, kazobmen.ru, wm007.kz and kz-exchange.com.

During the operation of law enforcement agencies in the Kostanay region, searches were carried out at six addresses, equipment was confiscated, and documents related to the activities of digital platform operators were seized.

From the materials of the pre-trial check, it follows that the department identified and blocked access to crypto assets worth more than $200,000 on the Binance exchange and several other unnamed sites.

Earlier, the National Bank of Kazakhstan announced the results of the first stage of the pilot project for the introduction of digital tenge. The study showed no risks to the country's economic stability, officials say.
